Each and every AStri product is still hand-made. Craftsmen look after every single detail with extraordinary skill and sensibility.
The Cignus line features 42 mm thick solid wood, superior woods typical of every AStri product.

All speakers are made of wood. Domestic beech, walnut or cherry-wood, all long-lasting seasoned woods. Every front panel is obtained from 42 mm thick solid wood, and carved by numerical control machines and special right-handed and left-handed millers which strictly follow the flame direction to avoid any risk of damage to the wood structure. Solid wood is stiffer and provides more damping; a physical and acoustic evidence is signified by the driver total weight and the very clear reproduction of the low and mid-low frequencies.

The box is made of multi-layer birch wood, glued with high pressure phenolic glue. Whereas to increase the longitudinal stiffness of the long panels, we opted for an isomorphic wood. The multi-layer wood alternate layers insure the absence of vibrations and don’t affect reproduction. The heavy total weight decreases Fs, driving the vibrations generated by the box to a non-audible frequency range, to ensure a totally unaffected sound.

This way, the speaker becomes unique and has the charm, beauty and feature of a work of art. The biggest brands opt for industrial manufacturing, thus losing uniqueness in a market of copies and mass products.
